Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information aspenacresrecovery.org collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Who runs this site

This website and the guidebook it distributes are provided by Randy Nobiensky and RH Builders ("we," "us"). You can reach us at info@rhbuilderscolorado.com or 719-240-7290.

Information you give us directly

Right now, this site has no contact forms, no newsletter signup, and no accounts. You can read and download the entire guidebook without telling us anything about yourself.

If you choose to email us or call the phone number listed on the site, we will have whatever information you send us — your name, your email address, your phone number, and whatever you write to us. We use that only to respond to you.

We do not operate any request form, mailing list, or sign-up of any kind on this site. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, this one runs on a web server that keeps standard logs. When you visit, the following may be recorded:

• Your IP address
• Your browser type and operating system
• The pages you viewed and when
• The site or link that sent you here, if any

This site is built on WordPress and hosted on GoDaddy Managed WordPress. GoDaddy processes this technical information on our behalf as our hosting provider.

The site also loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when the page loads. Google receives your IP address as part of that request. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people are finding the guidebook and which parts of the site they use. This is how we know whether the guidebook is actually reaching the families it was written for.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as your device type, your general location (city or region, derived from your IP address), which pages you view, how long you stay, and how you arrived at the site.

We use this only in aggregate — to see totals and trends. We do not use it to identify you individually, we do not use it for advertising or remarketing, and we do not connect it to any other information about you.

Google processes this information on its own servers and under its own terms. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics entirely, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the guidebook will still work.

Third-party tracking

Google Analytics is a third-party service and may collect information about your visit to this site as described above. Other than Google (Analytics and Fonts) and our web host, we do not knowingly permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across other websites when you visit this site. We do not run advertising, ad networks, or social-media tracking pixels.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry standard for how websites should interpret or respond to that signal. This site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. If you want to opt out of Google Analytics, the browser add-on and cookie settings described above will do it.

What we do with information

We use the limited information described above to:

• Deliver the website and the guidebook to you
• Keep the site secure and working
• Understand, in aggregate, whether the guidebook is reaching the communities it was written for
• Respond to you if you contact us

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we don't intend to.
• We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not use your information to market anything to you.
• We do not share information about who downloaded the guidebook with insurers, contractors, or anyone else.

We may disclose information if we are legally required to — for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

Service providers

The companies that keep this site running — our web host and, if applicable, our analytics provider — process technical information on our behalf. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep information

Different information is kept for different lengths of time:

• Server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) are retained by our host, GoDaddy, according to their standard practice — generally 7 days.
• Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, which is Google's default setting, after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregate totals and trends — for example, "the guidebook was downloaded 400 times in August" — may be kept longer, because they contain no information about any individual.
• Emails and phone calls. If you contact us, we keep that correspondence for as long as we need it to help you, and no longer than reasonably necessary.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold. No website can promise perfect security, and we don't.

Children

This site is intended for adults dealing with fire recovery. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to opt out of its sale (we don't sell it). Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act; California residents have similar rights under California law.

Because this site collects so little, in most cases the honest answer to "what do you have about me?" is "essentially nothing." But if you want to ask, write to info@rhbuilderscolorado.com and we'll respond.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information — for example, if we add a form to request printed copies — we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the site's home page.
